Jolana D Bass

Jolana manufactured guitars in Horovice, Czechoslovakia during the Communist era. There are unsubstantiated rumours that the company tried to negotiate a license to build a Rickenbacker influenced design but subsequently went ahead despite not having reached an agreement. It's unusual in that it has a P/J pickup configuration - a split Precision style pickup in the neck position and a Jazz style pickup in the bridge position. Along with the scratch plate screws, the poles on the pickups are made from a bronze coloured alloy and can be adjusted with a screwdriver that is built into the rear strap lock.
